ENTRY THIRTY NINE: Proud
Wow, yes. Last week really was foundational to the success of this week. I feel like I said this some time ago but business can be such a rollercoaster. Last month was incredibly quiet and then this month so far couldn’t be more different. In the last 7 days I’ve generated $487…. like WHAT!!! A total of 10 orders in the last 7 days. I don’t know why I always preface by saying I know it’s not much to some people but I think it’s my sort of safety mechanism or something?? It’s just crazy to me that I was able to earn that much money in one week. If I can get to that earning potential on a consistent basis I will be beyond proud. I already am proud though. I have come a long long way. I was chatting to one of my closest friends this morning and just sharing with her how things are feeling so purposeful. I love showing up here sharing these insights and I really feel like I’m doing some cool work with Simple Prints. The word art orders I’ve received have been so sentimental, they’ve been really special. Letters from passed grandparents, wedding vows and simple sign offs. I didn’t expect it to go as well as it did. Like honestly in the past I have spent so much time and energy creating all these abstract concepts and strategies and would end in 0 orders. I thought with this idea being so simple that it wouldn’t really be received. I think doing such a cheap price point to begin with is helpful. For getting customers in the door and also just testing the market. I will definitely need to increase prices in order for it to be sustainable. It’ll be interesting to see how popular they are following the launch and an increase of price
What I Did:
Monday: Launched the Custom handwritten word art product! Drafted, sent off for approval and posted supporting launch post of my friend Ella and her mum Jo.
Tuesday: Stories relating to product launch, posted a template reel, sent order off for printing
Wednesday: Posted a last minute post, packaged and posted a print
Thursday: Stories relating to product launch have now sold 7/15!!, actually 9 now!!!, did some instagram caption drafting, created and shared a order timeline post
Friday: Product launch stories and emailed out previews
Saturday: Added a digital option to the custom word art for a US customer enquiry
Sunday: Absolutely nothing!
