ENTRY THIRTY THREE: Entrepreneurship
Happy Sunday - It was the first week of no orders that I’ve had in a while so I’m not gonna lie I’ve felt a bit down on myself. Entrepreneurship is such a massive mind game. The contrast between last weeks entry and todays is just a very real representation of the journey. I’ve definitely not lost hope though (I’d like to think I wouldn’t after just one quiet week) and there were some positives, I had to pay my adobe subscription upfront for the full year in order to keep the low price. This meant it was almost $300 and because I did so well last month I had that money there ready to pay it, I didn’t have to dip into my other business accounts that are accumulating profits to pay so that was pretty cool. I’ve also got a influencer who will be sharing a collaborative giveaway next week. She has 22k followers so the exposure in itself will be awesome. Because of this weeks lack of orders I did lots of influencer outreach. I’ve been really lucky with the results I’ve had from working with influencers in the past so I just thought I would plant as many seeds as possible while I have capacity to - hopefully some things will come of it! Anyway I’m gonna get into the entry and I hope I have some more positivity next week. Although this is reality sometimes and I hope it comes across as it’s meant to. No overnight success stories here! Email me over on sam@simplestudios.nz if you wanna chat or give me some feedback/ideas!
What I Did:
Monday: Forgot to document and can’t really remember.. posted a reel though and ordered framed print illustration
Tuesday: Picked up influencer prints from Tom, worked on influencer prints and did some new product development
Wednesday: Influencer print, influencer outreach and customer follow up
Thursday: Posted a print off, bought some envelopes and a paper creaser to explore making cards and did some further product research
Friday: Nothing really, boosted an instagram post and just did influencer illustrations****
Saturday: Nothing****
Sunday: Did profit first, was the first time in a while where I didn’t really know what to do as my expenses outweighed the income
What I Learnt:
Eeek, nothing that I noted down. Maybe I just take this section out?

The ‘ideal week’ helped a lot! When I found myself just sitting there not knowing what to do I’d look at what I could do and those were things like new product development and influencer outreach. Because it also isn’t rigid I didn’t feel myself getting down when I wouldn’t do everything I’d like!
Fingers crossed for some orders this week!! Lots of Love, Sam
