ENTRY TWENTY EIGHT: Late!

I’m two days late! I’m pretty sure this is the first time I’ve missed the Sunday update - it was a real mental game trying not to beat myself up about having failed to meet the deadline BUT and emphasis on but, I am here now and showing up even though I feel disappointed in myself. I went up north to celebrate two close friends birthdays and that in itself was a bit of a win. I didn’t think I was going to go as it would mean Michael had to print and post the orders for the week as we go up north tomorrow for my brothers wedding and today is a public holiday. In the past I would’ve not gone and let that stop me. Michael reminded me that having my own business means that I have the freedom to do things like this so to go for it and I’m so glad I did. If you read this, thanks Mike. Anyway lets get into the week!

What I Did:

Monday: Customer messages and looked into uk print options for customer

Tuesday: Set up print artworks and watched mimi moo illustration youtube video

Wednesday: Created and posted a reel of the drawing challenge so far

Thursday: Drew customer orders

Friday: Customer order drawing and sent off previews

Saturday: Nothing

Sunday: Set up prints and emailed off to Tom at Riegers for printing

What I Learnt:

Eeek - back here again, I didn’t really learn anything again. I did enjoy watching 5 Steps For An Artist Friendly Schedule - How To Be Productive AND Flexible from Mimi moo Illustrations’ youtube channel though. I am looking at consuming as much as possible around structuring my days. So far a commonality I’ve noticed is sectioning elements of work out - like emails to admin, drawing time, content creation time and marketing time etc then loosely following a similar routine each day!

Didn’t really implement any structure/business planning. I have a meeting with my mentor on the 19th so going to skip that this week and just focus on keeping up with the drawing challenge - with my brothers wedding there isn’t going to be much time for Simple Prints unfortunately!
